When I first got the idea that I wanted to teach photography, I decided that I wanted to create a workshop that I would want to takeThe Color of Light became that workshop and I have been continually teaching it since 1990 all over the world including Santa Fe, Maine, Florida, Vancouver, Chicago, Los Angeles, St. Louis, New Orleans, San Miguel de Allende, Whidbey Island, Italy, Portugal and Alaska just to name a few. Specifically, this acclaimed workshop is intended for both advanced amateur and professional photographers who want to strengthen their ability to see and work in color. Through daily shooting assignments, critiques, and discussions, you will acquire techniques and “tools” that will enhance your perception of light and its effects on color, composition, texture, pattern, and design. While covering the use and quality of natural and artificial light, we primarily focus on investigating color from a personal perspective. Throughout the week, my goal is to guide and inspire you by shaping and refining your individual ways of seeing. The workshop begins with an intensive review of your images and a discussion of your personal goals. Daily discussions address the aesthetics and techniques of color photography and mastering your ability to see color. At the end of the week, you will leave with a greater awareness of your strengths and an enhanced aesthetic awareness of light and color.
